While many countries have a valid claim to an early game that resembles the game of golf, the origins of golf are without a doubt routed in Scotland’s past. The fact is, golf probably derived from other countries and stick and ball type games. However, while these are stick and ball games, they are missing that vital ingredient that is unique to golf. The hole. It was the Scots who introduced the golf hole into the game we now call golf.

Over the centuries, golf has evolved into the game it is today. The first recognizable form being played in Scotland in the early 1400′s. Andrews, Scotland is the birthplace of the game golf. Originating on the east coast of Scotland, golf quickly became the Scots’ national pastime and passion, bound forever to Scotland’s history and people.

According to Scottish lore, the people of Scotland believes that Golf was invented by Scottish fishermen to amuse themselves on the way home from fishing.

In 1457 golf was banned in Scotland because it interfered with the practice of archery, which was vital to the defense effort. The ban on golf had been issued in a time when Scotland was preparing to defend itself from the English. Scotland can say that they are the founding fathers in regards to the oldest golf course. It was in

Scotland that the passion for golf came alive. There is general agreement among historians and golf fans alike that the Scots were the first golfers who became somewhat addicted and passionate about the sport. In the very early days of golf, each golf group in Scotland produced their own and unique rules, which was sometimes the cause for interesting discussions. Golf is still a very popular game today in Scotland today.

The game of golf soon spread to areas outside of Scotland. In one form or another, the variant games of present day golf were clearly enjoyed throughout Europe in the Middle Ages. In fact in seventeenth century Dutch landscapes commonly show golf being played on ice. The game of golf began its destiny in time towards becoming popular around the world.

Pittsburgh over Carolina. The Steelers accomplished what they set out too. They beat an inferior opponent without anyone getting hurt and getting team MVP Troy Polamalu valuable rest so he can be ready for the playoffs. The Panthers all but assured themselves the number one pick in the draft Stanford’s Andrew Luck, who with their luck (pun intended) will probably choose to stay another year in school and take salsa dance classes.
Arizona edging Dallas. In a battle of third string quarterbacks the Cardinals John Skelton out dueled Cowboys Stephen McGee leading the Cardinals on a last minute drive setting up the game winning field goal by Jay Freely. The Cowboys David Buehler picked the wrong time to take a day off by missing a late PAT, (I’ve been waiting all year long to say that) eliminating the possibility of overtime. He must have heard the cries of football widows everywhere screaming “Miss it Ferris!” .
Chicago edging New York Jets. It is not so surprising the Bears won. It is how they won, in a shootout against a very good AFC team with a very good defense. Jay Cutler got hot, but it was the special teams lead by Devin Hester that got them into good field position. He is the most dangerous return man in the game and proved it again. Hester took a couple of returns that looked at first like he was going nowhere, into large gains with a blink of the eye. Hester has wings on his feet because he glided on the all most frozen field and eluded Jets special teams players who seemingly had him bottled up. Hester also has become a dangerous receiver making a couple of nice catches including his touchdown pass. He is defiantly one the Bears most potent offensive weapon. Jay Cutler showed mental toughness after throwing an interception that was returned for a touchdown.

Reviews of NFL week 11 games featuring the New York Giants and the Philadelphia EaglesHe threw three touchdown passes and not did not force any passes. The Bears offensive line that has taken a beating in games and in the media did not allow Cutler to get sacked and played perhaps their best game of year. It looks like they have finally jelled together and are ready for the playoffs. The Bears defense which has been solid for most the year allows 27 points to a Jets offense that has trouble scoring recently. They allowed the Jets to run and throw pretty much at will which has to be a concern. But they did stop the Jets in the fourth quarter and the last minute interception came at the right time. This game showed why the Bears are the enigma of the all the playoff teams. You can never get a true read on them.
The Jets lost but backed into the playoffs. Not the way they wanted but they are in. The good news is that Mark Sanchez played perhaps his best game in a month even with a bad wing. A little medicine helped a little with that. Scoring 27 points against a stout Bear defense can be looked upon as positive, but allowing 38 points to offense that is considered to be below average has to be a concern. They had no pressure on Cutler and he made big plays with receivers who are are not elite. Their punter must be related to the Giants punter because he kept kicking the ball to Devin Hester. Defense is the Jets strength. They need to play much better in the playoffs. They cannot expect to the offense to carry them or they will be a one and done.
Green Bay blasting New York Jets. Aaron Rodgers returned with a bang and lit up the Giants at will. The Giants played like still had a hangover from last week’s come from ahead lost. They could have used Mike Tyson to punch them in their faces before the game. It couldn’t have hurt.
St Louis over San Francisco. The Rams kept the playoff hopes alive by beating the 49ers. Mike Singletary was fired as soon as they landed. I’m going to miss his classic post games rants.
Detroit over Miami. The Lions won their second road game in row in Florida. Too bad they can’t play all their road games there. The Dolphins completed their worst home season ever by going 1-7. I’m sure the 72 Dolphins weren’t celebrating that.
Cincinnati over San Diego. The Bengals played their best game of the year and Carson Palmer looked like the Carson Palmer of old. That is what happens when you don’t have T.O. and Ocho-Cinco yapping in your ear in the huddle. The Chargers reign as AFC west champs is finally over, next year their goal should be winning a couple of games in September. And special teams, special teams, special teams.
Baltimore over Cleveland. The Ravens win clinched a playoff berth for them again. The highlight of the game was Ed Reed almost catching on fire when he clinging to sideline heater. Here’s thought for the sleeveless Ed Reed. How about wearing a thermal top? The Browns are looking forward to next year’s draft, like they do every year since their rebirth.
Tampa Bay rolls Seattle. The Buccaneers Josh Freeman continues his quest to become an elite quarterback. He is way ahead of schedule. With the loss the Seahawks are in good shape to win the NFC least by winning at home next week. If they do they should refuse to go and give it to the Buccaneers.
Washington edging Jacksonville. The Redskin won in overtime with Rex Grossman as their quarterback. That is something I thought I would never happen. The Jaguar’s still have hope but both of their fans know they have no chance.
Denver over Houston. The Texans lose after having a large lead, which is no surprise since their defense has been terrible all year long. There 8-8 record that last few years must seem like the glory days now. Tim Tebow had flashbacks of playing against East Carolina, he then realized at least East Carolina hit him once or twice.
Indianapolis over Oakland. The Colts have gone old school the last couple of weeks by running the ball and stopping the run. Fantasy football owners want Peyton Manning’s head when he slid down at the two instead of scoring late in the game. The Raiders were eliminated from the playoff with this loss, which is itself is a major accomplishment since they are usually eliminated by Columbus Day.
New Orleans edging Atlanta. The Saints and Drew Brees overcame a couple of bad “Farve” throws to beat the Falcons. This game was played in a playoff type atmosphere, it was loud and rowdy. Brees survived despite getting constant pressure from a Falcon defense. His biggest play occurred when after he threw his second interception to John Abraham, his ankle tackled him preventing him from scoring which would more than likely a game clinching touchdown. The Saints defense which has been giving up points and yards the entire season, played its best game of the year shutting down the Falcons running attack and keeping Matt Ryan at bay. The Falcons did blow a chance to clinch home field throughout but costly turnovers did them in. The short center shot gun snap resulted in a touchdown by the Saints and Michael Turner’s fumble at the goal line cost them a touchdown. The Falcons should win next week against Carolina to clinch the division and home field. I’m sure they will be aware that no matter where they play, mental mistakes can quickly put an end to their season.
Mother Nature postponing Minnesota/Los Angeles at Philadelphia. Mother Nature has had a Pro bowl season.

Throughout the years, the swing plane has always been one of the most difficult things to understand. Hopefully, I can simplify this difficult subject so you can achieve the proper swing plane in your golf swing.

I like to use the image of a weight swinging on a piece of string to illustrate the swing plane. What would happen if you picked up a weight on a piece of string and started to twirl it? Assuming your hand was on a 45 degree angle in front of you and not tilted left or right, the weight would make a circular arc around your hand causing the weight to swing down the line. If the weight was allowed to swing freely, it would do the same thing on one side as it does on the other. That means it would be swinging on a perfect plane around your hand.

Now that you have an understanding of what the swing plane is, you have to also understand that there are 3 different planes you could have. To imagine the different planes, think again about the weight swinging on the string. We already discussed the down the line plane (hand not tilted) but what would happen if you tilted your hand to the left? If you tilted your hand to the left the weight would swing to the left. Now what if you tilted your hand to the right? If you tilted your hand to the right the weight would swing to the right. So here are the 3 different planes you can have:

1. Swinging straight down the target line.

2. Swinging down to the left (over the top).

3. Swinging out to the right (inside out).

It’s important that we keep these things in mind when we think about our swing plane with a golf club. Like the weight swinging on a piece of string, we also have a weight (your golf club) swinging around our body (axis). Your swing plane may also swing left or right depending on the tilt of your body as you hit the shot. So what would cause the club to swing to the left or right of the target line (assuming you were in a stance that was square)? There are a couple of things that will stop the clubhead from swinging down the line:

1. Hitting with your upper body causing it to tilt to left on the way down.

2. The lower body sliding too much laterally on the way down.

Starting Down with Your Arms

If you start you downswing by trying to hit the golf ball you will get ahead of the ball which means that your body will be tilted to the left. This means that the ball will start to the left of the target causing pulls, pull hooks, skyed shots and slices.

Poorer golfers tend to try to hit at the ball with their arms because they have not yet learned how to hit the ball with their legs and body. To eliminate this problem of hitting with your arms, I want you to concentrate on the moment you are about to swing the golf club down. At this precise moment, you must start down by turning your hips not by pulling your arms down. This means you have to go against human nature. At the moment you are about to start down, human nature is telling you to try to hit the ball and hit it hard. This activates your arms which gets your shoulder rotation ahead of your hips and making the club swing down and to the left.

DRILL

A great way to feel the lower body swinging the club is to hold your club off the ground at knee high and do some practice swings. If you hold the club in the air, you take the ball and any hitting sensation with your arms out of the picture. If you no longer have the feeling of hitting with your arms, you can clearly feel your body making the club swing around your body thus creating the perfect plane (like the weight on the piece of string). Remember this feeling of not using your arms to hit your shots then apply it to your shots.

The Lower Body Slide

If you slide your lower body laterally through your shot you will cause the upper body to tilt to the right too much which, in turn, will make you ball start out to the right causing pushes, push fades and duck hooks.

DRILL

If you are someone who starts the ball out to the right of your target, you have to learn to turn your hips and body more as opposed to moving laterally. At the moment you are about to start your downswing, don’t think about shifting your weight to the left. If you shift too much, you will move too much laterally which will cause your body to tilt to the right too much on the way down. Instead, start your downswing by turning. To get the proper feeling of turning, simply place and object such as a broken shaft, golf bag, chair waist high approx. 3 inches off of your left hip. When you do your swing, try to turn and miss the object. If you hit it, you are moving too much laterally. Once you do a few practice swings training your body to miss the object off of your left hip, add the ball and hit a few shots.

Hopefully you have a new and better understanding of the swing plane and how if can greatly effect the direction of your shots. The next time you go to the practice range you may want to try an experiement to see how your upper body tilt affects the direction of your shots. All you have to do is simply tilt your upper body to the left and see where the ball goes. Then, tilt your upper body to the right so you can see the opposite result. Once you see this relationship between the direction and your body work on the proper uncoiling of your lower body until your shots start straight down the target line.

Until next time,

Paul Wilson

We are ready, willing and able to watch NFL action, and ESPN’s November ratings illustrate this rather conclusively.

Buttressed by another powerhouse season of Monday Night Football, ESPN racked up its third consecutive monthly ratings race. Through Nov. 28, Bristol averaged 3.91 million total viewers in prime time, leaping 20 percent from its year-ago deliveries (3.26 million), where to buy NFL Jerseys? ujersy.

Per Nielsen ratings data, ESPN made a clean sweep of the crucial TV demos, drawing 1.94 million viewers 18-49 (up 21 percent versus November 2009), while serving up 1.91 million adults 25-54, an improvement of 17 percent from 1.63 million.

This was a game that had a playoff type edge to it. The Packers needed a win to get in which they did, it just wasn’t pretty. There normally high powered offense was held in check for most to the game. Some of it can be attributed that the Bears know them so well, and maybe there was more pressure on them because they needed to win to get in. Aaron Rodgers was just a little off, he just missed on open receivers, but he did connect when he had his go to guy Greg Jennings on big plays in the fourth quarter. The Packers defense was outstanding sacking Jay Cutler six times and constantly putting pressure on them. Clay Matthews continued his quest to be defensive of year player by sacking Cutler twice by himself. He had a lot of help from a defense that has been superb all year. The Bears should be commended by playing to win the game. There was no incentive since they were locked in 2nd seed. But the same thing that hurt them earlier in the season hurt them again. They offensive line couldn’t protect Jay Cutler.

a review of the NFL games week 14Their defense was impressive in holding the Packers to 10 points, but they will need more scoring from their offense or special teams to advance in the playoffs
Seattle over St. Louis in the play-in game. This best part of the game it had a playoff type atmosphere. The worse part about this game were the teams itself. I kept waiting for either team to pop up and say, I deserve to go to the playoffs. I never got it. All I got was punt, punt and more punts. The Rams never let Sam Bradford to throw the ball beyond ten yards until the fourth quarter, when he did they were dropped. The only thing I can say about Seahawk quarterback Charlie Whitehurst is that he can take a hit and did not throw an interception. The Seahawks not only became the first team to win the division at 7-9, but will be the only team in NFL history to be at least a 14 point underdog playing at home.
Pittsburgh over Cleveland. The Steelers dominated from start to finish fattening up their stats and getting valuable rest for the playoffs. Troy Polamalu leap was the play of the game, even though he didn’t get to McCoy, it sure scared him for the rest of the game. The Browns after being competitive for most of the season reverted back to being bad the last few weeks, which is the reason Mangini got the axe.
New England blasting Miami. The Patriots seem to enjoy hammering their opponents even when they don’t have to. The Dolphins lone highlight was a terrific catch by Davone Bess who acted like his catch won the Super Bowl. The Dolphins were trailing 38-0 at the time.
Atlanta crushing Carolina. The Falcons took care of business routing the Panthers early. The Panthers fired John Fox before the game. Steve Smith asked Fox to take him with him during the game.
New York Jets over Buffalo. The Jets had a nice tune up for the playoffs by destroying the Bills. Rex Ryan then boasted the Jets will win the Super Bowl again. Was Rex a parrot in his previous life. The Bills actually had a good season. They were 11-5 against the spread.
Oakland over Kansas City. The Raiders finished five hundred or above for the first time in eight years. Al Davis thinks the NFL is screwing him by keeping the Raiders out of the playoffs. He doesn’t know the Raiders are in the AFC West, not the NFC West. The Chiefs didn’t play like a division winner, now they play the road tested playoff tough Baltimore Ravens. Can you say one and done.
Tampa Bay over New Orleans. The Buccaneers finally proved they can win against a team with a winning record three hours later discovered they did not make the playoffs. The Saints acted like they wanted to win this game until they saw Atlanta scoring at will and began pulling their starters.
Detroit over Minnesota. The Lions finished the season winning four games in a row. Won’t they be surprised to discover they can’t carry those wins into the following year. The Vikings finished off a dreadful season by losing again, next stop getting a veteran quarterback who goes to training camp and much more important a stadium.
Baltimore over Cincinnati. Not exactly a strong effort going into the playoffs but Ed Reed got two more interceptions to have 8 and lead the league, not bad for a guy who missed all of training camp and the first 6 games. The Bengals played their last game under Marvin Lewis. He had the longest tenure in their history being there for 7 years. How did that happen?
Dallas edging Philadelphia. Whoopee! The Cowboys barely beat the Eagles 3rd and 4th string. Now Jerry gets to save money by having a lower draft choice. The irony for the Eagles is that Kevin Kolb started the first game and the last game. For those Eagle fans were who were in a coma during that time they missed the entertaining Michael Vic show.
New York Giants edging Washington. The Giants won finishing with ten wins. Then the Redskins scoreboard operator could not wait to inform them that Green Bay won knocking them out of the playoffs. The Redskins now can finally stop listing Donovan McNabb as their string quarterback.
San Francisco over Arizona. Alex Smith played well in his final game as a 49er. The Cardinals defense was told not to hit him because he will probably be their starting quarterback next year.
San Diego over Denver. The Charger finished off with the number one offense and the number one defense. They will spend entire off season figuring out how to improve their special teams and beating the Vikings to Los Angeles. The Broncos gave up the most points in the league. New Vice President John Elway won’t mention that to Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh when he talks to him this week.
Indianapolis over Tennessee. The Colts don’t believe in blowing teams out. They live by the standard NFL line a win is a win. The Titans season will be remembered for the Vince Young meltdown and Cortland Finnegan getting punched in the face over and over again.
Houston beating Jacksonville. The Texans won their last game but now they will be naming former Cowboy coach Wade Phillips to be the defensive coordinator. Talk about the blind leading the blind. The Jaguars were in a position to make to playoffs which will be their selling point to both of their season ticket holders.

The NBA’s impact on the world could be considered minimal, if it were not for the advanced technology of global television and the personal outreach both to and from the team members. This is exemplified by the NBA China experience. Chinese citizens are extremely knowledgeable about the players and the game itself and enjoy watching it on television. It is also considered a gesture of friendship that team members are participating on a global scale with other sports minded people. China is just one country that is being reached out to by the NBA Events and Promotions Department.

Even in countries where basketball is behind soccer as a popular sport, the interest shown in the game and the activities surrounding the game are an important commercial message from the United States. Yet, the connection between the international fans and the team members was anything but commercial. The fans knew the team members and their playing style; they knew the colors and jersey numbers of favorite players, and they were enthusiastic in their support both for the team members and for the game.

Perhaps more than any other single factor in the global impact of the NBA is the presence of 7’6″ center Yao Ming from China. Ming currently plays for the Houston Rockets and was their first round draft choice in 2002. Previously he played for the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association. The tallest player in the NBA, he is also the first draft choice in the NBA to be selected with no American playing experience. Even to allow Yao Ming to play for the NBA required extensive negotiations and agreements about the details of his playing experience. The cooperation between countries is another impact that the NBA has provided globally.

The NBA program known as Basketball Without Borders is another global awareness program. Basketball Without Borders is a program that uses basketball as a method to implement social change. Dozens of present and former NBA team personnel and players act as camp coaches in the program. Young people from many economic, national and cultural backgrounds are united each year on four continents to learn together through playing basketball. The program teaches basketball, but includes a forum for social issues and emphasizes the awareness of healthy living and education.

To date, the program has been presented in nine countries on five continents. More than 250 different NBA team personnel, coaches and players from 30 different NBA teams serve as camp coaches for 1200 youngsters from 100 countries or territories. The volunteers and the campers have racked up more than 85 million travel miles and donated more than one million hours of community service.

Additional people have been reached through the community relations outreach efforts wherever the camps are held. In addition, 37 NBA Cares Legacy Project sites have been created in communities outside the United States and Canada. These sites are places where children and families can come to grow, play and learn. For example, a Learn & Play Center in the desperately poor township of Soweto, South Africa was built in 2003. In 2004, at a Reading and Learning Center, held at Vila Olimpica de Jornalista Ary de Carvalho, the crew held Basketball and Books clinics and conducted Read to Achieve events.

Other events and facilities include those in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Beijing, China, Shanghai, China, Vilnius, Lithuania, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Paris, France. The NBA program has built dormitories, basketball courts, clinics, laundry facility and guest house, library and computer center for a school, dining halls, and Habitat for Humanity Homes. In addition to the basketball clinics, the Basketball Without Walls program offers educational and awareness programs such as literacy, HIV/AIDS awareness, Special Olympics clinic, Skills for Life in a Box, Healthy Lifestyle Clinic, Fitness Clinic, and numerous visits to schools, hospitals, clinics and medical facilities.

With this type of personal interaction all over the world it is hardly surprising that the NBA truly has a global impact. The mobilization of money, talent and materials toward specific projects not only means high visibility for the sports organization, but the one-on-one contact with the young people involved in the project is a personal outreach that cannot be matched elsewhere.

In addition to the group projects through the NBA, other projects are being funded directly by NBA players. Given this personal contact, it is not surprising that there are fans of NBA teams all over the world, and widespread support for the principles espoused and demonstrated by the organization.

The other goal this 2008 is for them to minimize their problem areas and most importantly win in the division level.

When he retired at the age of 42, he took with him records for most points scored by an NBA player, most blocked shots, most MVP awards, most appearances in All-Star games, and most seasons played. To put it simply, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar composed the most impressive personal and team accomplishments in the history of the NBA! He was named Rookie of the Year, was a member of 6 NBA championship teams, was a six-time NBA MVP, was named NBA Finals MVP twice, was selected the All-Star team 19 times, league scoring champion twice, and selected as a member of the NBA 35th and 50th Anniversary All-Time Teams. And, no one was too amazed as Kareem had been a dominant force in basketball since his high school days.

Kareem’s first or original name was Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor (he would later change it to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar). He went by Lew Alcindor. His basketball dominance began in high school, where he led Power Memorial High School to a 72 game winning streak and an overall record of 96 and 6. As a sophomore at Power Memorial, he averaged 19 points and 18 rebounds for an undefeated team. His high school team was unbeaten in Alcindor’s junior season as well. The next year, for the first time in 72 games, they lost a game to DeMatha Catholic High School (of Maryland), 46-43. It was the only loss for Power in 3 years. In 1965 Lew Alcindor finished his high school career with 2,067 points and 2,002 rebounds, both of which are New York City records. Kareem was the greatest high school basketball player of his time.

He chose UCLA to continue with his basketball development, and once again, he was a dominant force in college. Back in those days, freshmen were not eligible to play varsity, but in a exhibition game, with 31 points, 21 rebounds and 7 blocked shots Alcindor led his freshman team to a victory over UCLA’s 2- time NCAA Championship varsity team, 75-60. During his first ever varsity game (66-67), Lew Alcindor set a UCLA scoring record with 56 points. He averaged 29 points and 15.5 rebounds with a .667 shooting percentage for the year as UCLA went 30-0. They would end the season with a victory in the NCAA Championships against University of Dayton, 79-64. Lew Alcindor would go on to lead UCLA to 2 more NCAA Championships; he won a national title every year in varsity basketball in college! Alcindor finished his UCLA career with 3 National Championships, Named 1st Team All-American 3 Times (67,68 & 69), selected as Player of the Year in 1967 and 1969 by The Sporting News, United Press International, the Associated Press and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association, and Named Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA Tournament in 1967, 1968 and 1969. Finished lording over the NCAA he then took his game to the NBA.

He was drafted as the first pick in the 1969 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks were a young team in only in it’s second season. In his first year Alcindor averaged 28.8 points (2nd in the NBA) and 14.5 rebounds (3rd) to lead the Bucks to an improved record of 56-26. They would reach the Eastern Division finals only to be beaten by the Knicks. Lew was awarded the League’s Rookie of the Year Award.

After acquiring the legendary Oscar Robertson, the Milwaukee Bucks went on to become a dominant team and recorded 66 victories in the 70-71 season. Alcindor was awarded the NBA Most Valuable Player Award and his first NBA Scoring Title. The Bucks went on to dominate in the playoffs, going 12 and 2. They swept the Baltimore Bullets in 4 games in the NBA finals. He had won his first NBA title and was named NBA Finals MVP. It was after this series that he announced that his legal name was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, which translates to “noble, servant of the powerful one”.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar went on to win the NBA Most Valuable Player award during the 71-72, and 72-73 seasons. In 1974 the Bucks were once again in the NBA Finals, but would lose to the Boston Celtics. Kareem asked for a trade during the 74-75 season. In 1975, the Lakers acquired Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and reserve center Walt Wesley from the Bucks for center Elmore Smith, guard Brian Winters, and rookies Dave Meyers and Junior Bridgeman.

Kareem won the MVP award in the 75-76 season, but the Lakers failed to reach the playoffs. He again was named MVP in 76-777 when the Lakers made the playoffs, only to be stopped by the eventual champion Portland Trail Blazers. In 1979 the Lakers drafter Earvin “Magic” Johnson, and this would begin a run of Championships. The Lakers would go on to win the 5 NBA titles in the next 10 years. All the while Kareem was putting up dominant performances game in ad game out.

When Kareem retired in 1989, it marked the end of a dominating era in the NBA. Kareem left the game as the NBA’s all-time scorer (38,387 points / 24.6 ppg), 17,440 rebounds (11.2 rpg), 3,189 blocks, and a .559 field-goal percentage in a career over 20 years and 1,560 games. He had scored in double figures in 787 straight games. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had cemented his name in history as the greatest center in the history of the NBA and more than likely, of all time!
